[Download] WackGet

If you're looking for a download manager, you always find complicated ones with much bells and whistles. Today, I found a simple tool that only does one thing: downloading. WackGet is based on wget, a commandline downloading tool for Linux. Therefore, it's open-source.

[Download] Active Security Monitor

While reading about AOL's new free anti-virus scanner this morning, I stumbled upon another free tool that they offer. The tool is called Active Security Monitor. It monitors your system and gives it a security score. You can also get more information on how to improve that score. At this point, you might think that it's just yet another tool to rate your computer's security, but there's more. If you register on the website of the program, you can add every computer in your network to it. This is really interesting, because as a system/network admin, you'll be able to monitor the security on all your computers without having to check them manually.
